Sport and Recreation Management Program at University of Iowa Launches College Athletics Infractions Hearing Competition

The University of Iowa Sports Law Professor Dan Matheson, J.D. has announced the launch of the University of Iowa College Athletics Infractions Hearing Competition, which is co-hosted by the University of Iowa College of Law and the the school’s Sport and Recreation Management program,

The competition closely simulates NCAA Committee on Infractions hearings and will put students in the roles of NCAA enforcement staff and defense counsel representing schools for a mock recruiting violation involving NIL.

There will be no travel required as all competition and events will take place on Zoom, February 24-25, 2023.  It’s an interdisciplinary competition, so teams can be made up of law students, graduate students in non-law programs, or a mix of both.
