Kelsey Copeland Joins LPGA Legal Team
After spending almost three years as Senior Corporate Counsel at NASCAR,Kelsey Copeland has left for the same position at the LPGA.
A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Copeland earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport and Entertainment Management, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina in 2014, and went on to gain her Juris Doctor, with a Certificate in Business Law, cum laude, from the Florida State University College of Law in 2017.
She began her professional career during law school as an extern with International Speedway Corporation and later returned as a clerk. She spent two summers as a key member of the legal team working directly with Assistant General Counsel to provide counsel and advice in day to day legal matters.
Copeland began her career at NASCAR as Corporate Counsel, where she drafted and negotiated a wide variety and high volume of contracts and was responsible for the career development of several paralegals and contract managers. Providing both legal and business counsel, her role most recently included ensuring best practice and compliance in all areas of the motorsports business, including privacy, marketing/advertising, and collection matters.
