Attorney Gary Chester To Present April 6 on ‘Defamation Cases in Sports’ for CLE Companion
CLE Companion, a nationally accredited and virtual continuing legal education provider, announced today that leading sports lawyer Gary Chester will present “Athletes vs. the Media: Defamation cases in Sports” on April 6 at 1 p.m. CDT.

Chester’s presentation compliments CLE Companion’s existing catalogue of sports law presentations and will lead to its creation of a Sports and the Law bundle, available here.
“Sports law has become omnipresent in society,” said Kristin Davidson, the CEO and founder of CLE Companion. “Whether because of its intersection with gender equality and social activism, or its application to the evolution of the media and legal protections afforded to the athletes, which attorney Chester addresses, sports law is getting the attention it richly deserves.”
So is CLE Companion, which recognized in early 2020 that the pandemic was going to change the way legal professionals consume CLE, after it became problematic for them to travel and attend in-person conferences.
“We have experienced tremendous growth as legal associations have looked for alternative ways to help their members satisfy their CLE requirement,” said Davidson.
The CEO also credited the commitment of speakers like Chester and hundreds of others, who have embraced the opportunity to share virtually their experience and insights.
