Peter Goplerud Talks NIL Rights for Athletes on Sports Law Expert Podcast
Spencer Fane attorney Peter Goplerud was the featured guest on the May 28 episode of Sports Law Expert. The conversation was recorded during the 49th Annual Sports Lawyers Association Conference, where Peter served as a panelist.
In his discussion with host Holt Hackney, Peter spoke on a wide range of name, image, and likeness (NIL) matters, including rights for college – and potentially high school – athletes; the ongoing challenges with new and changing rules and regulations; and uncertainty for the future of agreements within athletic programs.
“While many have said it’s the best time to be a college athlete, I’ve also heard that it’s the worst time to be a coach or an athletic director,” Peter shared.
