Second Season of Ithaca College Sports Media’s Talking Title IX and College Sports Podcast Underway
The Ithaca College Sports Media’s Talking Title IX and College Sports Podcast has started its second season.
Recent episodes featured co-founders of WomenX Mary Ciampo and Tiffany Bullock, J.D., along with intern Arla Davis talking about the DemandIX Campaign; legal scholars Dave McCardle (School of Law at Stirling University) and Sylvia de Mars (Newcastle School of Law) talking about their analysis of pregnancy discrimination under Title IX and pregnancy statements/policies (or lack thereof) in Power Five Conference athlete handbooks; attorney Matt Netti with Nixon Peabody discussing arguments made by both athlete plaintiffs and NCAA and athletic conference defendants in In re: College Athlete NIL Litigation as the plaintiffs seek class certification. Upcoming episodes include discussions with University of Massachusetts political science professor Libby Sharrow on her new book Equality Unfulfilled: How Title IX’s Design Undermines Change to College Sports, co-authored with Dr. James N. Druckman and Lori Bullock, J.D. from Bailey Glasser and Florida State University women’s lacrosse player, Sophia Villalonga, on their successful effort to have women’s lacrosse recognized as a varsity sport.
