Former NCAA Chief Legal Officer Donald Remy Was Paid $3.6 Million in 2021
Federal tax records have revealed that the NCAA’s former chief operating officer, Donald Remy, received a “severance payment” of just over $2.4 million during the 2021 calendar year. In combination with his regular salary, Remy received approximately $3.6 million, according to a report published in USA Today.
Remy, who was defending two antitrust lawsuits on behalf of the NCAA that year, left his role at the association in the summer to become Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a position he left April 1 of this year.
The NCAA spent more than $5 million on law firms that year, according to the paper.
