SRLA Presents Young Professional Award to Dr. Sungwon Kim, Assistant Professor of Sport Management at St. John’s University

The Sport and Recreation Law Association has presented the Lori K. Miller Young Professional Award, an award that recognizes “a young professional who demonstrates commitment to the study and instruction of the legal aspects of sport and recreation; service to the field and SRLA; as well as the potential for future growth and excellence in those same areas” to Dr. Sungwon Kim, Assistant Professor of Sport Management at St. John’s University.

Dr. Kim received a Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance from the University of Florida. His research centers on law and policy issues in sport with a particular emphasis on risk management and injury prevention. Dr. Kim’s recent research has focused on improving interventions to reduce concussions among youth sport athletes which has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals.
