The University of Miami to Host Sports Law Conference April 4-5
The University of Miami’s Entertainment and Sports Law Society and the LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law will host the Global Entertainment & Sports Law + Industry Conference April 4-5, 2019, at the Donna E. Shalala Center in Coral Gables. Relevant sessions include:
- “NCAA Amateurism and Pay to Play” on the afternoon of the 4th, which includes moderator Peter Carfagna, Chairman and CEO of Magis, LLC and Professor of Law at Harvard, Case Western and the University of Miami School of Law, as well as speakers Marc Weinroth, an associate at Jones Day, and Mike Martin, a financial professional at Wealth Strategies Financial Group.
- “Hot Topics Facing NFL Counsels” on the afternoon of the 4th, which includes moderator John Ruzich, Chief Legal and Administrative Officer, Legends, as well as speakers Gregg Brandon, Vice President and General Counsel, Buffalo Bills; Todd Davis, Vice President of Legal Affairs, Los Angeles Rams; Myles Pistorius, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Miami Dolphins and Hard Rock Stadium; Dan Malasky, Chief Legal Officer, Tampa Bay Buccaneers; and Larry Ferazani, General Counsel and Labor Relations Counsel, National Football League.
- “A View from the NBA Front Office” on the afternoon of the 4th, which includes speakers Ted Johnson, Chief Strategy Officer, Minnesota Timberwolves; Joe Pierce, Vice President and General Counsel, Charlotte Hornets; and Peter Guelli, Chief Operating Officer, Charlotte Hornets.
