Sports Lawyer and Mintz Member Tyrone Thomas Named to 2020 Lawyers of Color Power List

Mintz Member Tyrone Thomas has been named to the Lawyers of Color 2020 Power List, which recognizes the most influential minority attorneys and allies in the nation. Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession, and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities.

Supported by the Diverse Partners Network, the Power List’s fifth edition includes the nation’s leading general counsel, law school deans, legal media and nonprofit leaders, in addition to the recognized attorneys in the largest 350 law firms. The honorees from law firms are selected through a survey that provides the names of the top attorneys of color who are either managing partners or management committee members.

As Co-chair of Mintz’s Sports & Entertainment Practice, Mr. Thomas focuses on legal issues pertaining to intercollegiate athletics and professional sports. A nationally recognized attorney, he advises on employment, executive compensation and workplace investigations for clients ranging from international corporations to nonprofit institutions. He also provides compliance assessments on governance issues and advises clients on conflicts of interest.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Thomas is Chair of Mintz’s Diversity Committee. In this role, he leads the firm’s initiatives promoting diversity in the legal profession.

The honorees will be celebrated at a reception on February 26.
