University of Massachusetts Men’s Soccer Hires Assistant with International Sports Law Background

University of Massachusetts men’s soccer has anbounced the addition of Takehiko Nakamura as a volunteer assistant, Head Coach Fran O’Leary announced on Wednesday. Receiving his MS in Sports Management from Isenberg in 2004, Nakamura returns to Amherst after a successful career in professional sports.

Currently serving as the President and CEO of Sports Business consultancy firm Blue United Corporation, Nakamura runs an international business development company that connects Japan and the world through sports. Serving in multiple roles throughout professional soccer for over a decade, Nakamura’s stops include working with the MLS (Major League Soccer), FC Barcelonan and Kashima Antlers FC. Becoming an expert in his field he has held the title of certified FIFA Match Agent since 2012, helping FIFA bring communities, countries, clubs and national teams together.

Nakamura also received a bachelor’s in Law from Aoyama Gakuin University (1999) and a Master’s Degree in Global Executive Master in International Sports Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (2014).
