Hackney Publications Bundles NIL Institutional Report with a Subscription to Legal Issues in Collegiate Athletics
Hackney Publications (HP), the nation’s leading publisher of sports law periodicals, announced today that it will provide subscribers of Legal Issues in Collegiate Athletics with a complimentary subscription to NIL Institutional Report.
“This made sense, given that the subject matter we are reporting on in these publications is different, yet is intertwined in a myriad of ways,” said Holt Hackney, the CEO of HP. “We are also doing this to acknowledge the loyalty of our LICA subscribers, some of which have been with us since the publication was started almost 30 years ago.”

Earlier this year, HP announced a partnership with Influxer, a national leader in the NIL space, and a return of NIL Institutional Report to its original mission of providing actionable legal, marketing, and business intelligence to those in charge of managing the NIL landscape at their respective institutions.
NIL Institutional Report was originally launched five years ago in partnership with LEAD1 Association, which represented the athletics directors of the 130-member schools of the Football Bowl Subdivision. But as the legal and economic landscape changed in collegiate athletics, LEAD1 disappeared, its remnants ultimately being absorbed by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

NIL Institutional Report will feature original articles from subject matter experts and leading NIL companies on the most relevant and timely NIL institutional topics including legal, tax, accounting, marketing, and other ancillary NIL categories.

HP also published Sports Law Expert, a blog that features regular content on a daily basis as well as a directory of legal experts and their particular specialty. “This directory has been around for a decade and has led to new business for many attorneys as well as expert witness engagements for the academic community,” said Hackney.
