Sports Lawyer Kirby Smith Joins Ohio Dominican as Director of Compliance

The Ohio Dominican University athletic department has announced that Kirby Smith will be its new director of compliance, following the recent retirement of Associate AD/Director of Compliance Sandy Rowley.

Smith spent the last three years as the assistant athletics director for compliance at Eastern Kentucky University.

She graduated in 2022 with her Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Smith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Criminal Justice emphasis and a Minor in Forensic Studies from McKendree University in 2019. She was a four-year track and field student-athlete for the Bearcats.

While pursuing her law degree, she was a Compliance Intern at both Eastern Illinois and Southern Illinois Universities.
