DESCRIPTION
The theme for this year’s Symposium is Going Inside the Deal: The Art & Science of Negotiating, Structuring, and Managing Complex Contracts.
We hope to explore this topic in four panels: Structuring a Name, Image, and Likeness Agreement for a Collegiate Athlete or Influencer; Negotiating a Player or Coaching Agreement in Sports; Inside a Facility or Sponsorship Agreement; and Inside a Facility or Sponsorship Agreement. Going Inside the Deal: is a program that examines four topical subjects in sports in four panels of experienced professionals by a closer examination of key deal and negotiating points in the contracts that relate to these subjects that include: Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL); player or coaching contracts;
arena or league endorsement deals including stadium naming rights. Everyone knows something about each of these but most don’t have insight into what’s included in these complex contracts including the ethical issues that can arise when deals go bad.
