UM to Host 2024 Global Entertainment & Sports Law + Industry Conference on April 4-5

On April 4-5, the University of Miami will host the 2024 Global Entertainment & Sports Law + Industry Conference,tackling topics including “The Revolution of AI” with insights by industry leaders, hot issues in the Latin American music industry and a women’s sports roundtable.

Authorities in their fields, speakers include Dallas Cowboys general counsel Jason Cohen, Fanatics Collectibles general counsel Shiri Ben-Yishai, Hollywood Park Management Company LLC senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel Marlene Nations, and Mattel executive vice president, chief legal officer, and secretary Jonathan Anschell.

The University of Miami School of Law’s Entertainment and Sports Law Society and LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law host the annual event. The society delivered its first conference in 1997. Since then, it has grown into a full-scale event where law students and professionals participate in a forum to discuss current legal issues in sports, entertainment, intellectual property, the arts, and the media.

Some of the most well-known local and national attorneys, faculty, agents, legal advisers, athletes, and entertainers serve as panelists, lead Q&A sessions, and foster academic debate.

The Florida Bar CLE credits are pending with 15.0 general credit hours (2.0 Ethics and 3.0 Technology), and 15.0 Business Litigation certification.

The Thursday, April 4, and Friday, April 5, 2024, event will be held at the Shalala Student Center, 1330 Miller Drive on the Coral Gables campus, from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public with advanced registration. General admission for the two-day conference is $450, $400 for Miami Law alumni, $50 for non-UM students, and free for UM students, faculty, and staff.
