Western Michigan Brings Administrator with Legal Background to Athletic Department
Western Michigan Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae has announced the fire of Laura LeDuc as the Assistant Athletic Director, Administration/Chief of Staff.
LeDuc will serve in the newly defined role of Assistant Athletic Director for Administration. In this role, she will oversee day-to-day operations for the Athletic Director’s office, while also being responsible for handling the department’s human resource processes and procedures.
LeDuc is coming to WMU Athletics from Cooley Law School, where she served as Senior Director of Accreditation and Institutional Effectiveness since 2009. During her time at Cooley, she was the head compliance officer for all ABA, HLC, Federal, and State accreditation matters and annual reporting. She also oversaw the stadium naming rights agreement with the Lansing Lugnuts MiLB franchise and taught a Sports Law Course, including Title IX instruction.
Before her time at Cooley, she was the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Head Coach for Soccer, Swimming, and Basketball at Agnes Scott College.
“We are excited to be able to add Laura to this important role on our team,” Bartholomae said. “Her broad educational and professional experiences – both as an administrator and a coach – will serve us well.”
LeDuc also has an extensive background in youth sports and non-for-profit work as she is the Founder, CEO, and Head Coach of the Trojan Aquatics and Mid-Michigan Raptor Water Polo, whose mission is to instill a life-long love for aquatic sports and develop young leaders of character by providing a positive, inclusive community in which to they can learn, grow, and become their best selves.

LeDuc attended Emory University where she was a three-sport athlete competing in Soccer, Swimming, and Track and Field while graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
