Memphis Grizzlies Announce Salvatore Romanello as New General Counsel

The Memphis Grizzlies have announced the hire of Salvatore Romanello as general counsel and senior vice president of business administration. Romanello, a former commercial litigation partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York, joined the Grizzlies from 605 LLC, an audience and data analytics company, which is focused on the media and entertainment industries. Romanello left Weil to become 605’s general counsel in 2018.

At Weil, Romanello was a partner in the Complex Commercial Litigation Practice Group. He started his legal career at Weil in 1996.

Romanello has a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University, and received his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law, where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review. After graduating from law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard M. Berman, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York. He is admitted to practice in New York State, and in various federal courts throughout the country.
