Mike McIntyre Named Legislative Committee Co-Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Law Section.

Attorney Mike McIntyre of Ward & Smith has been named Legislative Committee Co-Chair of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Sports and Entertainment Law Section.

McIntyreHe has served in this role handling federal affairs for the last six years and has been nominated and reappointed each year.

The Sports and Entertainment Law Section includes lawyers who represent sports and entertainment clients, serve as counsel to organizations engaged in the multi-billion dollar industry and those who wish to broaden their practices to include the sports and entertainment area.

Mike’s legal career has included an emphasis on the sports and entertainment industry. He understands the various sports dynamics and advises and assists clients on the federal, state, and local levels. He was the founder and original chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Youth Sports on Capitol Hill, where he worked with the NFL, NCAA, Major League Baseball, PGA, U.S. Soccer, U.S. Tennis, AAU, Pop Warner Football, and the United States Olympic Committee, among other organizations.

His advocacy has earned him national and local accolades, including being recognized twice by the National Council of Youth Sports, honored by the Sports and Fitness Industry Association with the Champion of Health and Fitness Award, being recognized by the National Recreation and Parks Association, and being inducted into the Robeson County Sports Hall of Fame. He serves on the Leadership Board of the National Youth Sports Safety and Health Institute, which works in collaboration with the American College of Sports Medicine and Sanford Health.
